Arsenal news: The Gunners are close to signing Manchester City defender Oleksandr Zinchenko.
The Ukraine international has been a handy option for the Cityzens since joining from UFA in the summer transfer window of 2016. He has played 128 games in all competitions for the Cityzens thus far, scoring two goals.
Zinchenko helped the Manchester-based club win four Premier League titles, one FA Cup, four EFL Cups and one FA Community Shield. He also won the Ukraine Footballer of the Year accolade in 2019.
However, he has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks, with Arsenal among the top contenders to secure his services.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal has agreed on a deal with Manchester City to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko.
The Citizens have accepted the Gunners’ £30 million bid to sell the Ukraine international. The London-based club is now in talks with the player over personal terms, who is keen to move to the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta struggled with his left-back options last season. Kirren Tierney missed most of the 2021-22 season with a knee injury and Nuno Tavares failed to live up to his potential. The Spaniard is keen to add a new left-sided defender to his squad this transfer window.
What will Oleksandr Zinchenko bring to the Emirates Stadium?
The Ukraine international is a versatile footballer who is comfortable playing in numerous positions across the defense and midfield. He is known for his passing and dribbling skills along with his ability in the air.
According to WhoScored, he averaged 1.3 tackles, 0.9 interceptions, and 0.7 clearances per 90 last season. Other than that, he also completed 90.7 percent of his attempted passes in the league.
Emily Smith Rowe praises Fabio Vieira
Arsenal attacking midfielder has heaped praise on new signing Fabio Vieira. Speaking to the media, he said (via Daily Mail): “He’s very similar [to Silva]. He’s a very good passer of the ball, his left foot is very good and he likes to create goals and score them himself.
I’ve already played against him at the international level, so I can’t speak highly enough of him, and the fans should be really excited.”
