The England international has achieved huge success already in Europe by captaining West Ham to the Conference League title last season.
Prior to tonight’s game, Rice had been panned for his reaction to being handed an Adidas Champions League ball which Arsenal were training with.
A video of Rice was posted on Twitter captioned “Find someone who looks at you like Declan Rice looks at the Champions League ball.”
As Emile-Smith Rowe handed Rice the ball he held it in hand, pausing for a while and smiling.
The video went viral and rival fans took to Twitter to comment on the midfielder’s reaction.
One fan said: “Stop playing up for the camera.”

A second said: “Begging it for the camera.”
A third put: “Accidentally gives the camera a stare afterwards.”
A fourth added: “Even Smith Rowe calls him out you can see him pointing at the cameras.”
Mikel Arteta‘s side are in Group B along with Sevilla and Lens in what is their first season back in the Champions League since 2017 when Arsene Wenger was in charge.
PSV beat the Gunners in the group stage of the Europa League last season.
