Ian Wright has said Arsenal central defender William Saliba could reach the very top.
The former Arsenal star has said that William Saliba could become a world-class player in the coming years.
The pundit believes that the 22-year-old France international defender could become as good as Rio Ferdinand.
Ian Wright on Arsenal defender William Saliba
Former Manchester United, Leeds United and West Ham United star Ferdinand is one of the best defenders to have ever played in the Premier League.
Arsenal legend Wright has included Saliba in his Dream Five-A-Side team at the moment.
Wright said on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, as transcribed by TBR: “I’ve got William Saliba. He is coming everybody. I’m going to take William.
“Again, I think he is someone with a ceiling where if he clicks into that place where, I remember Rio clicking into that place where he was the man.
“Once he realises how good he is and he clicks into the place he will be able to do some Rio business.”
William Saliba a big player for Arsenal
In our view, William Saliba is one of the best and most important players for Arsenal.
Saliba was superb for Arsenal last season, and he seems to be getting better and better.
The 22-year-old is starting regularly for Arsenal and is turning on the style.
What is remarkable about Saliba is that he plays with a maturity that is beyond his years.
Yes, Saliba does make the odd errors, but he always recovers and does not seem to get fazed by them.
The defender has made 32 appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal so far in his career.
Saliba has scored two goals, given two assists, and kept 13 clean sheets in those games.
