Jamie Carragher says Bukayo Saka is just getting ‘better and better’ after Arsenal thrashed PSV 4-0 in the Champions League.
On Bukayo Saka’s Champions League debut, and upon Arsenal’s return to the elite, their star boy scored and assisted on a night to remember for all associated with the club.
That six-year absence from the big-time has resulted in Arsenal going down some really rocky roads, including finishing outside of Europe altogether.
But now they are being led back to the top, with Bukayo Saka a key player, as Carragher thinks that the 22-year-old is just getting ‘better and better’, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (20/09/23 at 10:30 pm).
Everyone has seen the Hale-End star work his magic on the Premier League stage, as well as when he is donning the colours of England.
But the Champions League is a massive step up and Saka has started like a house on fire.
Saka on the rise
“He is a fantastic talent and he is just getting better and better,” said Carragher. “Now he wants to perform at the highest level, which is the Champions League.
“He has made a brilliant start. Scoring so early and getting so many goals just before half-time and the game was almost dead and buried.”
Can Saka guide Arsenal to trophies?
That’s the next step for the technically gifted forward, who hit double figures in goals and assists last season in the Premier League.
It should have, and didn’t, result in a trophy. But that’s the next step for Saka and this Arsenal side.
And you would imagine that if those titles are to roll into Arsenal again, then, in next to no time, Saka will be a club legend.
