Thierry Henry says it ‘feels good’ that Arsenal are back in the Champions League ahead of their showdown against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night.
Mikel Arteta’s side will welcome the Dutch outfit to the Emirates, with Thierry Henry adding ‘I imagine that we can manage to beat them’.
However, the legendary striker did warn Arsenal that it is going to be a ‘tricky’ tie because PSV ‘isn’t an easy team’, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (19/09/23 at 10:55 pm).
Over the decades, Arsenal being in the Champions League was the norm. Regardless of what Arsene Wenger had on his plate, he made sure the team was competing alongside the elite.
But that six-year absence has hurt them, with many rough and tough roads along the way, including two years out of Europe altogether.
Nonetheless, this is what Henry had to say about Arsenal’s return to the Champions League.
Arsenal v PSV in Champions League
“It does feel good,” said Henry. “Hopefully, we can have a good game. It’s a tricky tie. Eindhoven isn’t an easy team.
“But, I imagine, that we can manage to beat them and start well in the competition.”
Arsenal in the Premier League and Champions League
Many are questioning how Arsenal are going to balance the two and whether it will affect their performances in either competition.
But if Arsenal want to become an elite team, then they need to stick their chest out and be able to perform in both.
All of those questions, and possible worries from some, will be answered during these coming months.
