Paul Merson has said that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal simply have to win against Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium in North London in the Premier League this coming weekend.
The Sky Sports pundit believes that for Arsenal to continue to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title this season, they have to pick up all three points from the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Arsenal star has also noted that Mikel Arteta’s side cannot afford to lose to defending champions City.
Arsenal will take on City at home in the league in October.
The Gunners are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 13 points from five matches, two points behind leaders City, who won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League last season.
Merson told Sky Sports: “Arsenal haven’t really got going and they’ve won four and drawn one. Everybody is like that, even Man City are not perfect.
“Fulham had chances against them, West Ham had them on the rack the other day. They were 1-0 up and Ederson was there making world-class saves.
“But if Arsenal lose their two big games, they won’t win the league, it’s as simple as that.
“If they lose to Tottenham and Man City, then they’re out of the title race by the start of October.
“Last season, if Arsenal had won one of those games against Manchester City – and they had them on the ropes in that home game in February – then they would have won the league.”
Arsenal should not panic if they lose to Tottenham Hotspur
We do not think that Arsenal should panic about not winning the Premier League title if they lose to Tottenham Hotspur and/or Manchester City.
The league title will not be decided in October.
No way.
There is a long way to go.
Of course, we know that City are a machine who win games even when they are not playing well.
However, the Citizens will drop points.
You never know, City could go through a bad spell at some point this season.
