Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are seemingly very keen on signing Juventus winger Federico Chiesa.
According to La Repubblica, Arsenal are interested in signing Federico Chiesa from Juventus in the summer transfer window.
The report in the Italian news publication has claimed that Arsenal have made contact with Juventus to enquire about the Italy international winger.
Juventus reportedly value the 25-year-old winger – described as “really special” by Juve and Italy legend Gianluigi Buffon in La Gazzetta dello Sport in July 2021 – at €60 million (£51.38 million).
Do Arsenal need to sign Juventus winger Federico Chiesa?
In our view, Arsenal should not rush into making a bid for Juventus winger Federico Chiesa in the summer transfer window.
Now, while the Italian winger is a very good player, Arsenal are not in desperate need of a wide player right now.
Arsenal need to sign a prolific striker who can compete with or even play instead of Brazil international Gabriel Jesus.
Central midfield is another area that could do with some reinforcements.
Of course, signing a player of Chiesa’s quality would make the Gunners stronger in wide areas, but we do not think that Arsenal should spend €60 million (£51.38 million) on him right now.
Chiesa made six starts and 15 substitute appearances in Serie A for Juventus this past season.
The Italian winger scored two goals and gave five assists in those games.
The 25-year-old made three starts and four substitute appearances in the UEFA Europa League for the Bianconeri this past campaign.
Chiesa scored one goal and provided one assist in those games.
