Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are ready to pay £90 million to sign Manchester United target and West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.
The London Evening Standard have reported that Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in signing Declan Rice from Premier League rivals West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
Bayern Munich are also claimed to be keen on the 24-year-old England international midfielder, described as “a diamond and a fabulous player” by former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves on Premier League Productions (29/04/23 at 11:50 am).
The report has claimed that West Ham want £120 million for Rice, but Arsenal want a deal for £90 million.
The Gunners will reportedly step up their pursuit of the midfielder after West Ham’s UEFA Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina this week.
Arsenal should be wary of Manchester United regarding Declan Rice
According to The London Evening Standard, Declan Rice has not agreed personal terms with any club.
While Arsenal have long been claimed to the favourites for the England international, you just never know what could happen when the transfer window is open.
Manchester United are a massive club and will feature in the UEFA Champions League next season, and the chance to play along serial winners such as Casemiro and Raphael Varane could be hugely appealing to Rice.
West Ham will not have any issue in regard to which club they sell the midfielder to, as long as they get what they want in terms of transfer fee.
While Arsenal are reportedly willing to pay £90 million for the midfielder, Erik ten Hag’s side could decide to pay more than the Gunners.
