Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has raved about Arsenal target Ilkay Gundogan for his performance for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City against Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United in the final of the FA Cup.
Ilkay Gundogan, who has been linked with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, was in action for Manchester City against city rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday.
The Germany international midfielder scored two goals for City.
The Premier League champions won the FA Cup final 2-1.
And former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has raved about Gundogan, calling him a “sensational player”.
Sport have reported that Arsenal and Barcelona are interested in signing Ilkay Gundogan, who is out of contract at Manchester City at the end of the season.
The report in the Spanish publication has claimed that Arsenal have “made him a very strong financial offer” to Gundogan, but the former Borussia Dortmund star is close to making a move to Barcelona.
Gundogan is one of the best midfielders around and remains at the top of his game despite being 32 years of age.
It would be quite a coup for Arsenal if they are able to convince the midfielder to make the move to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.
